To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer. In addition, to be a good fit for the Maintenance Manager opportunity, you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Excellent leadership and management skills including the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with staff members
  • Outstanding organizational skills; ability to keep track of and report on activity

  • Proven competency in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making

Reporting to the Plant Manager, as Maintenance Manager, you will lead and develop a team responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of manual and light automation equipment and for the plant and warehouse facilities. The team includes two supervisors reporting directly to you and covering the 1st and 3rd production shifts (the 2nd shift is currently FAB only), and a team of indirect reports including technicians and custodial personnel. The plant runs 24/5 and is continuing to grow and evolve. 

You will primarily work days, but will flex your hours as necessary to be a visible presence and resource to team members on multiple shifts. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Allocating workload and supervising upkeep staff (custodians)
  • Managing relationships with contractors and service providers
  • Monitoring equipment spare parts inventory and place orders when necessary
  • Monitoring all facilities' systems to ensure functionality
  • Generating and owning the annual maintenance budget
    Generating and providing structured advanced training for all maintenance personnel
  • Receiving and reviewing requests for maintenance and prioritizing maintenance activities based on urgency and availability of resources
  • Continuously monitoring our production processes to improve mechanical and electrical reliability
  • Planning and overseeing all repair and installation activities
  • Maintaining maintenance logs and reporting on daily activities
  • Ensuring that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose; providing proactive support/solutions when required
  • Developing and overseeing the implementation of process improvements, whether they be achieved through machine settings, machine improvements, process improvements, or people development
  • Recommending and developing capital equipment projects to adding capacity in this area or improving the operation
  • Coordinating with vendors; managing the work of technical maintenance staff, contractors and/or subcontractors
  • Overseeing maintenance improvement projects
  • Maintaining records and documentation related to equipment and manpower usage
  • Performing any activity necessary for the company to meet the needs of its customers
