To meet the basic qualifications for this position, you will have 2+ years of Quality supervisory experience in a production environment, ideally automotive. In addition, to be a good fit for the Quality Supervisor, Nights opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience; some relevant college coursework is highly preferred; an associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is preferred  
  • 3+ years of Quality experience, ideally in the automotive (highly preferred) or aerospace industries; we will also consider experience in other industries  Quick question for you - click here
  • Broad manufacturing experience; knowledge and understanding of automotive quality requirements preferred

  • Excellent analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to coach, train, influence and motivate others
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills

In the Charlotte 200,000 sq.ft. facility, we produce walk-in delivery vans for a major eCommerce customer.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will provide leadership, direction, and coordination for a night shift team of nine auditors, with responsibility for safety, quality, and productivity. You will supervise the overall product assurance program related to Quality in support of Production Operations, Supplier Quality, Material Review and Quality Program Conformance. Responsibilities include all aspects of managing resources for all product lines except, USPS. You will also have responsibility for supporting quality processes such as Receiving Inspection, Calibrations, and/or Nonconforming Material. Additionally, you will promote continuous improvement of product quality through the resolution of supplier and/or production discrepancy causes.

Your responsibilities will fall into several areas. In the areas of leadership and communication, you will:
  • Train, mentor and supervise auditors
  • Ensure team members are monitoring the processes of everything being built from rivets to the quality of steel to the paint and  finished product 
  • Ensure your team is part of the solution and is qualified to review and give the green light to products at the end of production
  • Coordinate employee work schedules
  • Administer policies and procedures
  • Handle employee confrontations with respect and consistency
  • Serve as a liaison between departments or groups
  • Communicate effectively with Quality personnel across shifts as needed, including your supervisor
With regard to quality and safety, you will:
  • Develop, communicate, and enforce quality standards
  • Ensure the quality of materials and workmanship
  • Be responsible for material review and corrective action
  • Monitor, report, and correct variation beyond standards in any activity
  • Problem solve to overcome all hurdles that could impact production
  • Monitor and train personnel on safety issues
  • Review and communicate data
With regard to staffing, you will:
  • Assume responsibility for personnel issues such as discipline, transfers, promotions, and terminations on the 3rd shift
  • Schedule work assignments to maximize production efficiency
  • Step in, taking a hands-on role on the line as needed to support your team and meet demands
  • Model positive behavior and attitude
