Role overview
Reporting to a Production Manager, you will supervise about 80 employees during a shift. In this 200,000 sq.ft. facility, we produce walk-in delivery vans for a major eCommerce customer. You will provide leadership, direction, and coordination of a prescribed manufacturing area, with responsibility for safety, quality, and productivity. You will be an active participant in continuous improvement, employee involvement and equal employment opportunity systems.
Your responsibilities will fall into six main areas:
- Communicating effectively with your team and other functional groups.
- Developing, communicating and enforcing quality standards.
- Ensuring efficient allocation of materials.
- Actively leading continuous improvement efforts.
- Handling staffing, including hiring, discipline, transfers, promotions, etc.
- Providing safety leadership.
