Reporting to the Customer Service and Warranty Manager, you will join a team that includes other Warranty Representatives and a Warranty Service Administrator. You'll be the customer’s first contact when repairs are needed on new Utilimaster trucks, working independently in a fast-paced team environment. Responsibilities will include verification of warranty claims, parts and claim entry, locating service centers, as well as other customer service endeavors.

In addition to the qualifications listed under The Requirements tab, we're looking for a professional who has the following competencies and characteristics:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to:
    • Interact positively with customers, fleet managers, and owners of Utilimaster trucks
    • Problem solve, think on your feet, and deescalate customer frustrations
    • Handle a high-stress environment
    • Work effectively both in a team environment and independently
  • A detail orientation and the ability to work quickly and accurately
Our preference is that you are based in the Bristol, Indiana area, but we also will consider candidates based in the Charleston, South Carolina area. If you live in Charleston, you'll come to Bristol for initial training. You'll work 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, although we'll look to you to be flexible as needed.

More about the role
In addition to the responsibilities under The Role tab, you will:
  • Provide best-in-class customer service to fleet managers, owners, and service centers
  • Receive incoming and make outgoing warranty calls in a call center setting
  • Respond promptly, accurately, and professionally to customers on the phone and via email
  • Determine warranty coverage for Utilimaster vehicles
  • Research the required parts and order parts for warranty repairs
  • Negotiate labor hours for warranty repairs

  • Work cross-functionally, as a part of the Utilimaster Quality organization, to investigate and report warranty issues
More about your success
Just about all job postings call for a "detail orientation," but in this role it is essential. You will work extensively with numbers, using 10-key skills, including part numbers, VINs, etc., and a single mistake can slow things down. Remember, our goal is to help get customers' trucks back on the road quickly. Your interpersonal skills also will be important as you interact with a variety of internal and external contacts. You may use those skills to help calm an upset customer or to influence an internal contact to take action.

To fit in well with the team, you should establish a reputation for reliability. Not only should you maintain an excellent attendance record, but you should be willing to step in and help your teammates, as they will be willing to do for you. The environment can be stressful, so a sense of humor is important. You also should be able to blow off steam constructively so you can get back to work with a continued focus on excellent service.
